Press Room

The Eminence pressroom represents an investment in flexibility.  The opportunities that this department affords Eminence and our customers are endless.  From blanking, coining, staking, deburring, welding, and inserting retaining devices, our equipment in this area allows us to manufacture virtually any combination of metal assemblies needed for our customers varied applications.

Currently the pressroom boasts three 300 ton Verson presses.  One of those presses is mainly used for blanking the bulk of our top plates and back plates.  The sister presses are used for coining the same plates or for bumping back plates.  For our larger back plates and top plates we blank with a 600-ton Multi Press.

There are also two 80-ton Komatsu presses.  One of these machines is used to take demand off of the Verson coining and bumping machines as the need arises as well as punching and stepping select baskets.  The other Komatsu is dedicated to making retaining rings for our compression driver operations and pressing vent screens for all our vented products.

We use welds or drive screws for attaching top plates to our baskets.  We have one 10-ton Multi Press that is dedicated to pressing in drive screws for the latter application.

Finally, the pressroom uses a 20-ton Multi Press and a 30-ton Sutherland press for staking cores and vents on to back plates.

This department is responsible for several other operations including basket modification, welding top plates to baskets, raw material storage, and core storage.
